I was asked by Volvo's Creative Director, Pontus Carsten Lychou, to help tell the story of a crash survivor from northern Sweden. At first, all we knew was his name: Adam. He had survived a collision with a moose and later written a letter to Volvo, thanking them for saving his life. The challenge was simple: could we turn a memory of an accident into a compelling film?

The story was built around three elements: Adam's letter, a free-form interview, and a reenactment of the crash at the Volvo Crash Lab. To deepen the emotional connection, we also transported the wrecked car into a studio, where Adam and his family were reunited with it for the first time since the accident. By keeping the crew small and the production lean, we created the conditions for an honest and personal conversation. The film became less about the crash itself and more about the memory of it ,and of course the life that continued afterward.
